Proposal Photography at the Grand Floridian

One of my favorite parts of proposal photography sessions at Disney is the opportunity to meet people from everywhere and anywhere! Disney fans are all over the country and all over the world and many of them flock to Disney World to experience the magic, so I have the unique privilege of photographing people from so many states and countries.

In this case, I was excited to celebrate and capture the beautiful moment that these two Louisianians became engaged. Mallory and Nicholas are a couple of LSU Tigers who had long had a love for Disney and couldn’t wait for their dream vacation. Mallory had no idea, though, that Nicholas had plans to make their trip even more magical by asking her to be his wife.

Mallory and Nicholas were an absolute joy to work with every step of the way. They’re simply a genuinely kind and fun couple, and some of my favorite portraits are those showing Mallory and Nicholas laughing and having fun together – just being their sweet selves.

The Grand Floridian Resort, where the couple was staying, created the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, with perfectly green lawns, lovely water features, and stunning interiors. As a fun added bonus, because Mallory and Nicholas were in town during the holiday season, the resort had an amazing Christmas tree! It was a great way to capture this special time of year that has been made even more beautiful by the upcoming start of this couple’s life together.

I can’t blog about this session without also mentioning the pictures of Mallory and Nicholas’s LSU class rings alongside Mallory’s new engagement ring. To me, it was the perfect snapshot to tell their story, and I know that it’s only the beginning.

Shock and Awww! Proposal Photos at Kraft Azalea Gardens

Part of the reason I love proposal photography is that I’m such a sucker for happy surprises. Who doesn’t love seeing the delighted amazement on someone’s face when they see that the person they love most in the world is asking them to spend the rest of their lives together?

With Jess and Matthew, I was thrilled to be able to capture such excited and joyful shock on Jess’s face, and I have to say, Matthew, pulled off an amazing surprise! Matthew is actually a photographer as well as a videographer and a VFX artist. Jess is a model and often poses for Matthew in pieces for his portfolio, so she didn’t suspect a thing when Matthew asked her to go with him to Kraft Azalea Gardens for a photoshoot, or even when he asked her to turn around for a pose. But when she turned back around and saw him in front of her on one knee, she was ecstatic! We were waiting in the wings to step in and photograph their special moment.

This beautiful Orlando couple is inspiringly artistic. In addition to Matthew’s work in photography, videography, and VFX, and Jess’s work as a model, Jess is a poet as well. The two of them just exude beautifully creative energy, so I couldn’t wait to incorporate some artistic flair into their engagement photos. I especially love the dramatic photos of the couple at the waterfront, surrounded by trees and plants that seem to embrace them as much as they embrace each other.

Of course, we have to talk about that ring too – it’s absolutely gorgeous! I love that Matthew stepped outside the box and chose a ring he clearly knew his new fiancée would adore, and it made for some tremendous engagement ring photos.

Dancing Dreamers’ Proposal Photos at Disney Riviera Resort

Proposal Photos at Disney Riviera Resort

As a photographer, I love having variety in my work and putting together a range of types of photography – engagement photos, family photos, and so on. But our top specialty is taking proposal photos at Disney, which is such a unique circumstance in the world of photography. Not only does it allow us to capture moments of such amazing surprise and joy, but one of the two clients doesn’t even know they’ll be having a photo session!

These proposal photos at Disney Riviera Resort were a bit different because this couple was prepared! Denise and Andrew were celebrating their engagement at the resort as a fun vacation away from their home in Louisiana. They’re an absolutely adorable couple and were thrilled to be looking forward to a wedding together.

For most of their photo session, Denise donned a beautiful white dress (foreshadowing for her impending wedding dress, I’m sure!) and Andrew complimented her perfectly in a navy vest and bowtie. Disney Riviera Resort was a stunning backdrop for this lovely couple! We found some fantastic mosaic walls that were perfect for photo backgrounds, but my favorite photos might be the ones we snapped in the resort’s courtyard.

The open green space and amazing architecture around the courtyard gave the perfect blend of contemporary style and classic beauty, which happens to fit Denise and Andrew perfectly. They even had some fun dancing in the courtyard, and it was easy to see that these two know exactly how to put smiles on each other’s faces.

Of course, we had to infuse a bit more of a Disney vibe into this couple’s proposal photos too. They donned more casual outfits with a twist on the classic mouse ears for some incredibly sweet and fun photos in front of Cinderella Castle.

Wishing for a “Yes:” A Proposal at Magic Kingdom’s Wishing Well

Life has a way of getting busy enough to fill all of your time. You might be balancing your career, kids, home, school, hobbies, friends, or any combination of these rewarding yet time-consuming parts of life. Still, we always manage to find time for what is most important.

That’s exactly what happened with this beautiful couple, Marc and Melissa. Marc runs a boating business and he was right in the middle of his busy season, but he knew that this was also the perfect season to give Melissa the proposal of her dreams. So despite the couple’s busy schedule, Marc found the time (and help from Melissa’s Mom) to put together an incredibly special day for his love Melissa.

What better place to pop the question than Cinderella’s Wishing Well at Disney’s Magic Kingdom? After all, you’re putting your whole heart into wishing that the love of your life says “yes!” From a photography perspective, the scenery of the wishing well is also downright gorgeous.

Melissa and Marc were such a sweet couple to get to know. We took full advantage of Disney’s scenery, with plenty of photos in front of the Cinderella Castle. This can be a challenge sometimes because of heavy crowds, but fortunately, Marc and Melissa had a rather quiet day so I was able to capture plenty of photos of them with the classic Magic Kingdom scenery without a clutter of other people in the background.

Of course, it isn’t a proposal photo shoot without plenty of shots featuring the ring! The pear-shaped solitaire was stunning, and it looks like it was always meant to be on Melissa’s finger. It was a joy to create so many photos of these two simply having fun and being their adorable selves together.

A Proposal At Disney’s Magic Kingdom | Kaylee and Sean

Kaylee has to be one of our sweetest and cutest brides-to-be! When Sean proposed to her at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Kaylee’s expressions were priceless. She was so happy! Sean brought her and lots of friends and family, all the way from Texas to help make this day very special for her. Congratulations Sean and Kaylee!

From Kaylee:
We met on the second day of high school my sophomore year during lunch when I offered him a go-go squeeze because the line was so long I didn’t want him to be hungry. He played baseball, was in the grade above me, and still had his post-summer tan from lifeguarding so he was basically it for me right then. Sean was so shy about liking me that I had to ask him for his number to get the ball rolling. Within those first two years, I had three surgeries, my house flooded twice, we both graduated high school, he started the process of becoming a firefighter, and I moved away for school. Through all of that we stayed together he was my foundation through all the hard stuff, laughed with me through the silly stuff, and we continued to grow with one another.

When I was 11 I was bit by a snake on my left ring finger and was really self-conscious about the scar that was left behind for a while. My surgeon was amazing though so I told myself it would really matter because the ring and the person would make up for it and they wouldn’t care about any scar it would be about us. Sean knows me so well and he planned everything so perfectly the ring, the people that were present, the place, and even having you guys there I couldn’t ask for a better proposal or a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I had a teacher in high school who told all his students not to be so involved in high school relationships because in the long run, it doesn’t work out. The day after Sean proposed I emailed him telling him we beat the odds, we are getting married. A few days later I heard back from him telling me he’s never been happier to be proven wrong.

I cannot be more excited to marry Sean, he is the person I look forward to telling everything to, he’s my best friend without him I have no idea where I would be but I know he helps me be the best version of myself always.
