International Love: A Universal Studios Orlando Proposal

When an adorable boyfriend from across the pond calls to plan a surprise engagement shoot, we answer! Dion and Meg traveled from London, England, to visit Universal Studios in Orlando. Little did Meg know, her trip to Orlando (and the rest of her life) was about to get way more exciting!

We can’t even begin to explain the excitement we feel when we have the chance to capture a surprise engagement! As you can tell from these photos, Meg was totally shocked, and Dion was so happy! The plan came together without a hitch, and we captured every moment. The energy between these two was electric, and it was obvious how much they loved each other! There’s no doubt in our minds they’ll have a very happy life together 🙂 You’ll have to scroll to the very end to see just how happy their lives are about to become!

Photos That Don’t Scream Theme Park

At Universal Studios

there are tons of areas that easily pass as alleyways or cityscapes and don’t immediately scream theme park! This makes for a great photoshoot backdrop. I love the pictures we took in front of the cool brick walls with interesting signage and the incredible set of huge green doors. And, of course, no Universal Studios engagement would be complete without visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

A Wedding of Wizards: Elopement Photos at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

One of our top specialties is proposal photography, capturing the incredible moment when a couple decides to commit to marriage. We don’t often get to see the next chapters of those stories, though. That’s why it was such a treat when Qiao and Kent hired us to photograph their one-of-a-kind elopement at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

In front of the stunning Hogwarts Castle, these two die-hard Harry Potter fans tied the knot. They both dressed for the occasion, he in his Gryffindor suit and his Slytherin bride wearing a Harry Potter diadem tiara.

These Boston-based lovebirds were so much fun to work with throughout their special day. Qiao is a scientist and Kent owns Boston Dog Company – a doggy daycare, veterinary clinic, and dog training center. It was a wonderful privilege to get to know them as we strolled through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for their wedding photos.

The park allowed us to take a tour of one of this couple’s favorite shared interests and make it part of their big day. Kent was such a good sport to try on Qiao’s tiara in front of the Hogwarts Express, and dare we say, he rocked it!

The mixture of romantic classic wedding photos and lighthearted candids we captured throughout the day seems to perfectly sum up this beautiful couple. We even managed to get some portraits with the steam from Hogwarts Express in the background, and it created an outstanding artistic effect.

Christmas Magic from Dr. Seuss: A Universal Studios Holiday Photo Session

The holidays are always a magical time, so why not add a touch more magic and fantasy into the mix? That’s exactly why Hillary and her beautiful family decided on a Christmas photo shoot at Universal Studios in Dr. Seuss Land.

If you’ve never been, Dr. Seuss Land is in the Islands of Adventure and it’s an area of Universal Studios dedicated to the wonderful works of Dr. Seuss. For the kids (and kids at heart) who love his books, it’s the perfect place for Christmas portraits.

Hillary has long been a fan of Dr. Seuss, so naturally, she’s sharing the magic with her little Evie. This sweet family is from Massachusetts and was gladly enjoying the warm weather of central Florida, and I think you can see that joy on their faces in every shot.

The “Green Eggs and Ham” area was our go-to, but the Universal Studios landscape lent itself to plenty of beautiful photo opportunities. Dr. Seuss Land was perfect for a family session with a toddler in tow because little Evie could just play and have a great time while we got those precious smiles on camera.

It was so much fun to watch this close family let loose and have a great time together. Their personalized Grinch shirts were the icing on the cake and certainly captured the Christmas spirit, even though we were surrounded by palm trees instead of sleighs and reindeer. Baby Evie experienced an exciting new adventure, and these family portraits will serve as a reminder of the family’s trip for decades.
