Of all the locales where I take proposal photos in the Disney parks, Magic Kingdom has to be the most popular. After all, it’s the park that captures all the Disney themes the most, so for any Disney fan, it’s the most magical place to get engaged.
That was certainly the case for this beautiful couple, Brielle and Eddy! They’re from New Jersey, and both of them (along with the whole family) are Disney superfans. So, naturally, when Eddy wanted to give Brielle the amazing proposal she’s always dreamed of, he thought of Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
The entire family came to Orlando to enjoy Disney, and this made the proposal even more special because they could all be there and share in Brielle and Eddy’s excitement. I loved how thrilled the whole family was, and I can already tell that this couple’s wedding will be a blast!
With Brielle and Eddy officially engaged, we made use of the park to capture their magical engagement photos, themed around all things Disney. Brielle was even accessorized for the occasion with her Cinderella carriage purse, Mickey ears, and amazing Disney nails! Cinderella’s castle and the wishing well were must-photograph backdrops for these two, and the photos of them kissing in front of the carousel are show-stoppers!
My favorite part of photographing Brielle and Eddy, though, was capturing the genuinely joyful spirit they share. They’re both so bright and sweet, and they laugh together so easily! I was thrilled that these Disney superfans were able to turn a fun day at the Magic Kingdom into a day they’ll treasure forever.

Disney is an incredibly popular place for proposals, and it’s easy to see why! Not only does it have absolutely beautiful scenery that provides a fantastic backdrop for any special moment, but as the saying goes, it’s the happiest place on earth!
But despite the fact that so many people pop the question at Disney, I can personally say that every proposal is truly unique. One of my favorite parts of my job is watching the dynamic of a couple at this incredible moment in their lives.
Whitney and Brandon were so much fun during their proposal! Whitney was absolutely stunned in the best possible way, so clearly, Brandon did a great job with the surprise. These two are from New York, so what Whitney thought was just a fun vacation turned into one of the most memorable days of her life, and I was thrilled to be there to capture the moment for them.
Brandon proposed with a gorgeous view of Cinderella’s Castle in the background, and we focused most of their photos around the castle. We experimented with photos in front of the carousel, too, and between the lights and the motion in the background, I can’t get over how well these shots turned out.
As fantastic as the couple’s posed portraits are, I’m in love with their candid shots too. As we made our way throughout the park, I could see how much of a connection these two have. They made each other laugh from one moment to the next and I was so glad I could capture some of these sweet moments.
If you’re planning to pop the question, you can make the moment even more special with a photo session to preserve those smiles and that joy for the rest of your lives together. Contact my Orlando area photography studio to book your proposal photos today.
Life has a way of getting busy enough to fill all of your time. You might be balancing your career, kids, home, school, hobbies, friends, or any combination of these rewarding yet time-consuming parts of life. Still, we always manage to find time for what is most important.
That’s exactly what happened with this beautiful couple, Marc and Melissa. Marc runs a boating business and he was right in the middle of his busy season, but he knew that this was also the perfect season to give Melissa the proposal of her dreams. So despite the couple’s busy schedule, Marc found the time (and help from Melissa’s Mom) to put together an incredibly special day for his love Melissa.
What better place to pop the question than Cinderella’s Wishing Well at Disney’s Magic Kingdom? After all, you’re putting your whole heart into wishing that the love of your life says “yes!” From a photography perspective, the scenery of the wishing well is also downright gorgeous.
Melissa and Marc were such a sweet couple to get to know. We took full advantage of Disney’s scenery, with plenty of photos in front of the Cinderella Castle. This can be a challenge sometimes because of heavy crowds, but fortunately, Marc and Melissa had a rather quiet day so I was able to capture plenty of photos of them with the classic Magic Kingdom scenery without a clutter of other people in the background.
Of course, it isn’t a proposal photo shoot without plenty of shots featuring the ring! The pear-shaped solitaire was stunning, and it looks like it was always meant to be on Melissa’s finger. It was a joy to create so many photos of these two simply having fun and being their adorable selves together.

We LOVED Emily and Henry’s Magic Kingdom Proposal! They are the sweetest couple. Their families were there to make it even more special. I got this from Henry when we planned the proposal: “The proposed plan is as follows: My sister, Honey, will be taking photos around the park to help promote her new Disney jewelry products that she’s been marketing. As my girlfriend will be taking these photos (likely in front of the castle), my sister will at one point pull out a sign from her pocket/bag that will tell Emily to “turn around”, and at that moment I will be kneeling in behind of Emily with the ring (contained in a box-shaped like the My Adventure Book from the movie Up). At this point is where she will hopefully turn around and the moment can be captured! I’ll say a few words to her and await her answer. “
Read Emily’s story here: I guess we met in 6th grade (at least he knew me then) and we became friends in 7th grade. He’s basically the boy next door since we lived in the same neighborhood and we met on the school bus. I remember it clear as day. My friend and I were sitting together and then another boy came over on the bus and sat on the seat next to us. Henry followed him over and sat next to us as well but didn’t talk much. He was super shy and quiet, and I remember thinking he had huge hair! Us four became the new quartet and always did things together. But as high school started, it became just Henry and I. We became closer and closer by bonding over Manga, talking over AIM messenger, and biking around the neighborhood. The summer before 10th grade started, I definitely considered him my best friend, but I also started to like like him. However, knowing Henry, if anything was going to happen, I was going to have to make the first move. So, I did—I told him I liked him first! He said the same thing and I could say the rest was history, but it wasn’t that easy.
During the summer of 2010, we started dating each other. We didn’t make it public at first, but a lot of people easily caught on to this! Then, we went to separate colleges and even had 5 months apart by a 6-hour time difference when I studied abroad in Copenhagen. We had a lot of trying times together facing different personal and family challenges. However, through it all, we let each other grow and become our own person. I have never felt held back by Henry or tied down to him in a limiting way. I’ve only ever felt supported and unconditionally loved by him. We’ve been together for 11 years and we’ve grown as a couple and as our own independent selves. That is something I’ve always loved about us.
In August of 2020, Henry moved in with me to my apartment in Boston. This was another learning curve but was also a moment we’d both been waiting for for a while. Finally, we didn’t have to say “Goodbye” after a weekend visit together but just a “Goodnight.” After five months of living together we decided to look at engagement rings! The only problem is that I don’t like rings, but I wanted an engagement ring and I wanted something I would love. So naturally, I chose my own ring!
After we bought the ring in February of 2021, I tried to not ask questions or bug Henry too much about the proposal. I mean, I may have shown him dozens of Instagram reel of different proposal videos or watched Say Yes to the Dress in front of him many times. I may have also blatantly told him “You better propose by the end of 2021!” Little did I know he was actually planning the most perfect proposal for months in the happiest place on Earth—Disney World!
Disney holds special meaning to me, and Henry knows this. My parents had their first date and honeymoon there. I’ve been at least 15 times since I was a baby and I absolutely cherish the place. Back in March of 2021, we booked a trip to go there with his family for his sister’s birthday in August. I thought that’s all it was going to be, just a birthday trip. But then my mom got wind of our trip and also booked a trip for her, my dad, and brother to go there the same week as us. However, my mom is known for her spontaneity and I didn’t question it. I was actually kind of worried about both of our families being there and trying to make it clear it wasn’t a “joint” trip because I didn’t want to stress his sister out.
Fast forward to Monday, August 9th, our flight gets canceled, we’re running on three hours of sleep, it’s thundering and starting to lightly rain, and my family gets stuck on The People Mover. I guess these factors explain why Henry seemed to keep falling asleep everywhere we went: the hotel room, the bus to the Magic Kingdom, and under the canopy outside Casey’s Corner. Poor guy was freaking out! Meanwhile, I was just becoming more and more confused as everyone just stopped moving. Then his sister takes me to the Hub Grass and asks me to help her shoot some content for her Etsy shop. She explains to me that she’s going to hold up different signs for her shop and wants me to record it. As I’m recording, I remember giving my brother and mom a look saying, “What is going on?” But then once Honey reveals the sign that says, “Emily Turn Around,” everything froze. I was already crying as I turned around but when I saw Henry on one knee, that’s when the waterworks really started. That’s when I realized that this man planned everything for months and orchestrated the whole thing to have both of our families present for this special moment at one of my favorite places on Earth. I don’t really remember what he said, but I do remember feeling like my heart was going to explode from the love I felt. Then, he surprised me again with a photo shoot!? I was blown away! He honestly made me feel like a real-life Disney princess and I really can’t wait to live out my happily ever after with him. He says he waited 14 years for this proposal, and now we both can’t wait forever.
Kaylee has to be one of our sweetest and cutest brides-to-be! When Sean proposed to her at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Kaylee’s expressions were priceless. She was so happy! Sean brought her and lots of friends and family, all the way from Texas to help make this day very special for her. Congratulations Sean and Kaylee!
From Kaylee:
We met on the second day of high school my sophomore year during lunch when I offered him a go-go squeeze because the line was so long I didn’t want him to be hungry. He played baseball, was in the grade above me, and still had his post-summer tan from lifeguarding so he was basically it for me right then. Sean was so shy about liking me that I had to ask him for his number to get the ball rolling. Within those first two years, I had three surgeries, my house flooded twice, we both graduated high school, he started the process of becoming a firefighter, and I moved away for school. Through all of that we stayed together he was my foundation through all the hard stuff, laughed with me through the silly stuff, and we continued to grow with one another.
When I was 11 I was bit by a snake on my left ring finger and was really self-conscious about the scar that was left behind for a while. My surgeon was amazing though so I told myself it would really matter because the ring and the person would make up for it and they wouldn’t care about any scar it would be about us. Sean knows me so well and he planned everything so perfectly the ring, the people that were present, the place, and even having you guys there I couldn’t ask for a better proposal or a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I had a teacher in high school who told all his students not to be so involved in high school relationships because in the long run, it doesn’t work out. The day after Sean proposed I emailed him telling him we beat the odds, we are getting married. A few days later I heard back from him telling me he’s never been happier to be proven wrong.
I cannot be more excited to marry Sean, he is the person I look forward to telling everything to, he’s my best friend without him I have no idea where I would be but I know he helps me be the best version of myself always.
We have SO much fun photographing proposals at Disney! So much love and happiness! Will had it all planned out to propose to lovely (and Ariel Princess-like) Brooke, and we were there to document the surprise. They are so sweet and Brooke was so surprised! Of course, she said yes 🙂
It all started when Will’s father called me to check on availability. Then a few phone calls back and forth with Will – “how does this all work?” We can always help you with the planning of your proposal! We know it can be confusing and overwhelming, especially coming in from out of state.
We decided to meet at the Cinderella Wishing Well, a perfect spot in the shadow of the castle. We knew what they were wearing and Will and I texted our whereabouts to each other. Finally, they came around the corner and Will got down on one knee. Brooke was so happy and stunned!
We made our way through Mainstreet, The Purple Wall, Cinderella Castle and Mickey’s Toontown. Will and Brooke were easy going and easy to photograph. We all had a great day!
Congratulations Brooke and Will! May all your wishes come true.
Matthew was the best man at Gordon and Kristen’s wedding last year in Toronto – we all became friends right away. Matthew called us last week and said he and Maria were visiting Florida, had just got engaged and wanted a Disney engagement photo session! We were really happy to see him and meet (ridiculously cute) Maria. They are one of the sweetest and happiest couples we’ve met. Our shoot was so fun, especially when “royal etiquette expert” Lady Llewellyn from Cinderella’s Court at the Magic Kingdom hung out with us! She gathered other guests there to give Maria and Matthew some of their best marriage advice. Which, by the way the looked at each other and literally danced together down Main Street, I don’t think they really needed <3 Read more from Matthew below
Our story:
In the Manhattan church that I attend, we hold a sandwich drive each month for the homeless. Maria was in New York for interviews and the night before her interview, she wanted to spend the evening with the youth group. As soon as she walked into the church, I spotted her smile, she spotted my pager, and we hit it off from that night. We met up together in a group the next evening, after her interview, and went to Dave and Buster’s, where both of our competitive spirits came out to play. Fast forward a year later, including dinner dates, escape rooms, Broadway shows, basketball games, and so much more. At that time we found ourselves preparing for our individual medical specialty board examinations. By far one of the most stressful times in both of our lives. Her profession is in Radiology and mine in Pathology, which together makes a cute diagnostic medical team. I took my exam in May and spent the last week with Maria before she took hers in June, all the while planning our proposal to surprise her (a rare feat). We had plans to fly out to Atlanta, where her family is, the weekend after her board exam, then to NY for my residency graduation, and finally to Orlando to enjoy being a kid again in Disney World.
The Proposal:
While preparing for our board exams, I was secretly planning the proposal of a lifetime. Maria grew up in Atlanta, where all of her friends and family are, and where her home church is, which means the world to her. I always knew I wanted to propose to my future wife in front of a church altar, because of the deep symbolism behind it and the importance of having God amongst us always. I also wanted to tweak the proposal with a little bit of romance and fun, who wouldn’t? So I set up a Proposal themed “Escape Room” with clues based on our relationship only she would know in order to succeed and escape the room. The room included an area from our Past and another for our Future. Five memories from our relationship were used to unlock a pathology slide box that was filled with five more facts about our future. The last five clues unlocked a container with a large X-Ray of the ring saying, “MEET ME WHERE WE SAID I LOVE YOU.” Instantaneously, she knew where to meet me – in front of the altar. There I was, pacing, standing, detouring curious friends; inside the church by the altar, awaiting my beautiful bride-to-be to walk in. She shyly opened the door, and weak in the knees walked up the center aisle. We stood in front of the altar, and recalling Maria asking me for her ring pop on the last Valentine’s Day we spent together, I promptly pulled out a diamond collection ring pop from my left inner blazer pocket. She says “YES!” with her excitement exceeding my expectations. After whispering words I have been awaiting to tell her for so long, I get down on my right knee, pull out a Cinderella carriage ring box, open it and ask, “Will you marry me?” She says, “Yes!!” and the anxiously awaiting family and friends outside the church doors come marching in to the church to celebrate!!

Ace contacted us about photographing his proposal to beautiful Victoria at the Magic Kingdom. Many emails later, we were there, ready to capture the moment. He put together a fun scavenger hunt that included “find someone to take your photo,” which was Ace’s cue to get on one knee and propose. She said yes <3
From Victoria:
Pageantry has been a part of my life since I was 12 years old that got me interested in competing for Miss New Jersey USA. I always excelled in the sciences, which lead me into choosing biology as a major in college. I was in a relationship that lasted for 4 years, which did not end well. With the stress between my previous relationships I really wanted to find someone who had similar qualities like myself. One day my friend told me to try plenty of fish (POF) and maybe I can build some friendships or a good laugh to distract me from my recent break up. I was skeptic by the whole online dating not knowing that I will meet the love of my life. In less than 24 hours I received a message from Asaph. I was very skeptic about believing if this person was really the person he claimed he was or a fake profile. After being friends and hanging out with him I realized how genuine and kind he was. He encouraged me to go after my dreams when I thought I failed. He has seen every tear from failure, disappointment, and grief. I never thought I would find someone so similar like myself and God fearing. Magic kingdom has always been on my things to do list and I wanted to visit there with my boyfriend. This engagement has been so magical with high emotions of happiness and tears of joy that is still occurring till this day. I can truly say my dreams came true and I finally found my prince.
From Ace:
I am a Resident Physician currently training in General Surgery in Long Island, New York. However, I will be transitioning to Radiology residency in Manhattan, with the hopes of eventually practicing Interventional Radiology. I was born in Toronto Canada. I moved to the states with my family when I was 18 and ended up studying Biology and Competing as a track and field athlete at the University of Georgia. I went to Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine and graduated in 2015 in the inaugural class. I used to date on and off but always ended up being more stressed out by my girlfriends than with my medical school studies. My friend convinced me I should try an app called Plenty of Fish to try and meet someone, and sure enough after about a day, I found and met Victoria on there during my third year of medical school. She actually was very supportive, loving, and caring. Not to mention she is gorgeous. I never thought I would find anyone who gets me the way she does. I can always count on her to encourage me and to be there when things don’t seem to be going my way, and vice versa. We were actually driving in the car one night and I got a call from Hilton Grand Vacations and they offered us the opportunity to stay at a Hilton resort in Orlando, Las Vegas, or New York. Victoria chose Orlando because she has always wanted to go to Disney. We booked the vacation almost a year in advance and I thought it would be a perfect time to propose. It also allowed me time to save up for the ring. It was kind of an impromptu vacation that resulted from a random telephone offer. I wanted her to have an experience at Disney that she would never forget.
