We are so lucky to have amazing clients who turn into friends and call us year after year to photograph their families. It’s so fun to watch these boys grow! Elise and Giovani have hired us for many years, and we have done lots of headshots for their company. I can not believe that their two boys are already pre-teens! My name is Kelly Canova and my husband Courtney and I are artists living in the great city of DeLand, Florida. Recently I’ve seen artists all around the world who have found small ways to give back during this unprecedented season in our culture and I want to do my part. As a photographer, I know that the best gift I can give to my community is to document our new normal. Part art project, part community service, this experiment is about capturing what makes our town so special: the people. This series is a collection of family portraits that remind us that while we cannot control the things happening out in the world, we can find peace and joy in the moments we spend in our homes with the people we love most. l love this town, and I want to gift you with the memories of these long days and nights spent with your loved ones.
DeLand residents: Let me know if you would like to take part in our project! The photos are a gift and images will be sent to your family digitally. Each shoot will take about 5 minutes and will be shot from at least 10 feet away, applying the current CDC approved guidelines for social distancing.
