Another great Indie Market in Sanford! Don’t miss the next market February 16, at Tuffy’s Bottle Shop & Lounge. You will find the best artisans, vintage and handmade goods, plus great food and drinks!
Chef and culinary educator Emily Ellyn is the Home Economics teacher you’ve always wanted! She’s the mother of Retro Rad cooking and encourages everyone to dig through their family recipe box, dust off their pressure cookers, and take the old and make it new. She takes the retro, remixes it, and makes it RAD.
With her quirky persona and trademark cat-eye glasses, this vintage vixen spends most of her time cooking up fun at food events around the world; all while developing her culinary TV career. You’ve seen her on Food Network’s “Food Network Star,” “Cupcake Wars,” and “Cutthroat Kitchen” on HGTV’s “House Hunters” as well as the FYI Network, Cooking Channel, and morning news shows across the country. And… was that Emily in a cameo cartoon-appearance on the “Simpsons?”
This year Emily celebrates her 3rd year as the national spokesperson for Frigo® cheese. In between appearances and developing recipes you’ll likely find Emily at home, busy in her garden or cooking up her first book.

From Sara: Describe your wedding day style in one sentence A laid-back, romantic backyard gathering. Favorite memory of the day Seeing each other for our “first look,” which is also when we read our vows. It felt like we could completely focus on the promises we were making to each other. What songs? First dance: “My Funny Valentine” Father/daughter dance: “Your Song” by Elton John Mother/son dance: “I Will” by the Beatles Wedding day color scheme Shades of blue and gold with a little green Describe your wedding planning processA team effort! I used theknot.com/Pinterest/etc., but I think working with local vendors was the most helpful part. Jimmy and I tried to focus on a few details that were important to us, so we prioritized picking our favorite music, good food, and a fun venue. Everything else came together once we settled on those pieces. We were really fortunate to have an amazing team of vendors who were excellent sounding boards. What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day? It’s cliché, but I needed to hear this: try to have fun and go with the flow! Everyone who agreed to come to your wedding is there because they care about you and your partner, so just know you’re surrounded by the love and support of your community. Anything you would have done differently? Nope! Most memorable moment during the planning process:At some point, Jimmy bought a large countdown clock for our wedding day (the kind with giant, red, illuminated numbers counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds) and it was displayed prominently in his living room for over 400 days – it was hilariously absurd! It was kinda fun to see the countdown from 100 days, 50 days, etc. though! What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?Traveling and cooking together more! Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos? We’re excited to see lots of candid moments – first dances, hugs with friends and family, goofy faces from our dogs. What was your wedding inspiration? We wanted it to be a fun dinner party with elegant touches- some DIY, some rustic/natural details, but overall the kind of party where people could relax and enjoy the scenery. The string quartet and live band were a big part of creating that atmosphere, and so were the details of the venue! We loved the remote location, the trees, the open fields surrounding the property, the airplanes, the alpacas, and the unique AirBnb properties. Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them. We loved finding ways to incorporate things we both love, like coffee and tea! The wedding favors were from Trilogy Coffee and Centro Tea Company, which was something we’d wanted from the beginning. Also, instead of printing programs, we commissioned a friend (Rachel Fox Art) to paint signs with the schedule/details for the evening – they were lovely AND we didn’t have to worry about distributing anything! One of the most meaningful details, though, was having my big brother as the officiant for the ceremony – that was a great moment.
Did you know we can also photograph your wedding rehearsal dinner?! Such a nice time with Sara and Jimmy and their amazing friends and family at Enzo’s on the Lake. It was a beautiful “The Night Before.” Wedding planner: Courtney Ford Event Design.

Sara and Jimmy’s Danville B&B wedding was perfect – beautiful, laid back and full of lovely friends and family – AND their beloved dogs, who were part of the bridal party! Here is a sneak peek of a few of our favorites, most of which came from their First Look where they read their vows to each other! xo
We love when our wedding couples come back again and again to hire us to photograph their special occasions. Like Chelsea and Joe waiting for their baby girl due in April! Chelsea loves big beautiful trees so much, (see Chelsea and Joe’s engagement session here and wedding here) we knew we had to find a special place with trees for her maternity photo shoot. Congratulations you two! We can’t wait to meet her! xo
