Scarlette and Sean’s vintage wedding at Deland’s Bridle Oaks was SO fun, I had to share a few sneak peeks! More to come…
We loved Stacia and Kaden’s wedding at the Ford Pasture in DeLand! They are high school sweethearts and had so many great friends and family there, this couple is truly loved. Since Kaden’s mother is one of our dearest friends, this wedding was very special to us.

Angie and Patrick’s wedding was SO fun. My favorite part was right after the ceremony when the Brown Bag Brass Band lead everyone through the courtyard, conga line style. It was a great way to start off the party! Congratulations Angie and Patrick! We are so happy we were there to help you celebrate 🙂

Describe your wedding day style in one sentence: Semi-homemade and collaborative, our wedding was a team effort with more than a little help from our friends.
Favorite memory of the day: One of my favorite memories was right after the brass band led us into the courtyard after the ceremony. We made our way to the sweetheart table as our friends found their seats and the band played. I felt so grateful that we had this opportunity to gather so many of the people closest to us in one place to celebrate.
What songs? The song we chose for the wedding processional was “Forever” by Ben Harper. We also made separate playlists for dinner and whenever the band took a break between sets. A friend of ours who has a jukebox recommended an oldie called “To The Aisle” by The Five Saints that several people asked about. We included “Galway Girl” by the Kilkennys, because we got engaged in Galway, Ireland. It was fun making the playlists.
Wedding day color scheme – Teal, Orange and Champagne
Describe your wedding planning process: Lots of booze…
What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day? If you’re going to do your own make-up, practice applying your false eyelashes more than once.
Anything you would have done differently? I would have made Patrick practice saying our vows aloud. During the ceremony, he made up words that the officiant didn’t say. Just made up words…
Most memorable moment during the planning process: The moment we toured the Mayan Chapel and Courtyard, we knew this was our venue. Small and visually stunning, it was a perfect fit for us a couple.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple? During a final walk-through of the Mayan Chapel and Courtyard, we met a couple who had held their wedding at the same venue decades ago. They were there because it was their anniversary and they celebrated each year by visiting the chapel. We look forward to sharing our memories together, and like that couple, creating new traditions.
Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos? The most exciting moment of the day was immediately after the ceremony (because, yay we did it!) We’re looking forward to the photos of these first moments before the real celebration began.
What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc) We wanted our wedding to be a cheerful, semi-casual celebration. Our colors and theme were originally inspired by the Mayan revival design of the Mayan Chapel and Courtyard. We wanted our wedding to be bright and bohemian, and most importantly, small and intimate so that we could truly enjoy the company of our friends and family.
Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.Wedding Bands: I wanted our wedding bands to be unique, so I handmade them using precious metal silver clay. I chose a pattern based on designs we found on the walls in the Chapel and Courtyard so that the rings would always remind us of this amazing day in this beautiful place. Paper Flowers: Rather than using fresh flowers from a florist, I made flowers for the table décor and cake using crepe paper. Several of my friends pitched in to make them, so in addition to lovely, bright flowers, I now have memories of creating a central part of my wedding décor with some of my closest friends.
Some of our first look favorites for Angie and Patrick’s New Orleans styled wedding at the Art and History Museum – Maitland!
Sara and Jimmy’s wedding at Danville B&B was perfect, the sweetest couple and so many nice details – they made our job easy. Congratulations to you both and thank you for such a fun night!

From Sara:
Describe your wedding day style in one sentence A laid-back, romantic backyard gathering.
Favorite memory of the day Seeing each other for our “first look,” which is also when we read our vows. It felt like we could completely focus on the promises we were making to each other.
What songs?
First dance: “My Funny Valentine” Father/daughter dance: “Your Song” by Elton John Mother/son dance: “I Will” by the Beatles
Wedding day color scheme Shades of blue and gold with a little green
Describe your wedding planning process A team effort! I used theknot.com/Pinterest/etc., but I think working with local vendors was the most helpful part. Jimmy and I tried to focus on a few details that were important to us, so we prioritized picking our favorite music, good food, and a fun venue. Everything else came together once we settled on those pieces. We were really fortunate to have an amazing team of vendors who were excellent sounding boards.
What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day? It’s cliché, but I needed to hear this: try to have fun and go with the flow! Everyone who agreed to come to your wedding is there because they care about you and your partner, so just know you’re surrounded by the love and support of your community.
Anything you would have done differently? Nope!
Most memorable moment during the planning process: At some point, Jimmy bought a large countdown clock for our wedding day (the kind with giant, red, illuminated numbers counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds) and it was displayed prominently in his living room for over 400 days – it was hilariously absurd! It was kinda fun to see the countdown from 100 days, 50 days, etc. though!
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple? Traveling and cooking together more!
Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos? We’re excited to see lots of candid moments – first dances, hugs with friends and family, goofy faces from our dogs.
What was your wedding inspiration? We wanted it to be a fun dinner party with elegant touches- some DIY, some rustic/natural details, but overall the kind of party where people could relax and enjoy the scenery. The string quartet and live band were a big part of creating that atmosphere, and so were the details of the venue! We loved the remote location, the trees, the open fields surrounding the property, the airplanes, the alpacas, and the unique AirBnb properties.
Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them. We loved finding ways to incorporate things we both love, like coffee and tea! The wedding favors were from Trilogy Coffee and Centro Tea Company, which was something we’d wanted from the beginning. Also, instead of printing programs, we commissioned a friend (Rachel Fox Art) to paint signs with the schedule/details for the evening – they were lovely AND we didn’t have to worry about distributing anything! One of the most meaningful details, though, was having my big brother as the officiant for the ceremony – that was a great moment.
Did you know we can also photograph your wedding rehearsal dinner?! Such a nice time with Sara and Jimmy and their amazing friends and family at Enzo’s on the Lake. It was a beautiful “The Night Before.” Wedding planner: Courtney Ford Event Design.

Sara and Jimmy’s Danville B&B wedding was perfect – beautiful, laid back and full of lovely friends and family – AND their beloved dogs, who were part of the bridal party! Here is a sneak peek of a few of our favorites, most of which came from their First Look where they read their vows to each other! xo

Stacia and Kaden are so great together – we had so much fun with them for their engagement shoot out in the woods. Even got to them to juggle lemons! We can’t wait for their wedding in November planned by Kaden’s mother and our amazing friend Courtney Ford Event Design! xo
From Stacia: We were in high school and we met through mutual friends, we were just friends for about a year before we started dating in 2014. I love that Kaden has always shown so much love and care for me – anything I need he’s always there, and I love that no matter what we are doing we always have a good time. He’s pretty great ?
I wanted to put up just a few of my favorites from Nakiya and Reese’s magical Disney cruise wedding on the Dream! Lot’s more to come. Thank you Nakiya and Reese for including is on your amazing adventure xo
We loved working and getting to hang out with Kristy and Ray from Kristy’s Artistry Design Team and Harrison and Haley from Black Mountain Cinema.
