Dr. Jill and Dr. Don have been our eye doctors for years, we have been friends and have done lots of photo shoots with them and beautiful Isabelle (see one of her here.) We can’t wait to do more family shoots when their baby boy arrives! Isabelle is going to be an amazing big sister xo
I love The Artist Portrait Series – we get to meet amazing artists and get a private tour of their work, studios and life. Another favorite: Camilo Vasquez. Fine Artist and Teacher. We are looking forward to his exhibit at the Orange County Regional History Center Feb 25 – May 28.
Camilo Velásquez is a Colombian born Fine Artist and Professor currently living in Orlando Florida. In his work, he recreates short stories and family histories by juxtaposing imagery and words to produce meaningful visual creations. Both poetic and captivating, his art touches varied aspects of life, death, love, and loss. See more work here.

I met Alissa years ago when she modeled for a photo shoot we did, then saw her again recently at her friends wedding that we photographed. I was so happy to be able to take maternity photos of this gorgeous mama!
From Alissa: Lee is from England and we met in 2012 and he came here to marry me September 2014 after I spent an extended time with him in England in 2013. We had two miscarriages in 2015 and then needed help getting pregnant through a fertility clinic, so this is our rainbow baby. Our trials have been incredibly hard but so worth it.
Sometimes we are lucky enough to have our seniors play for us while we photograph them, such a special treat that Nicole is an amazing violinist. Nicole is a senior at Winter Springs High School. She is the editor-in-chief of the Bear Truth Newspaper, and she loves playing the violin. An interesting fact about her is that she can speak 3 languages – French, Arabic and English.
Having my own art gallery show and opening is a dream come true for me. So much fun to have my work at Blake Elliott’s Salon and Gallery this past month! It meant so much to have my family and friends there to support and encourage my work. Prints and commissioned work are still available! Contact me at kelly@thecanoavsphotography.com
Artist’s Statement
As an artist and photographer, I watch light and beauty in everything I do. How light lands on a subject and how beauty is found in the lines of an interesting face. I have always loved the shapes and beauty in flowers, the colors, the emotions they evoke. I love to put together a drawing with the dimension and depth of flowers. These designs come from the heart, this art is fleeting as the flowers wither. Like a good movie or a great painting, I want these Drawings with Flowers to take both the subject and the viewer to a more vivid and meaningful appreciation of their world.
Couldn’t wait to share some favorite images of Heather and Dale’s Maternity photo session at Leu Gardens. More to come…
We met KC about five years ago at an art gallery in downtown Orlando. We were drawn to her work right away. We bought two of her pieces that night and looking forward to having more of her work in our little local artists collection. We became fast friends, KC and Courtney took some figure drawing classes together and she hired us to do some commercial photography for the company she worked for. We loved that she wanted us to take her portraits and we loved being in her studio to capture her working. Thank you KC <3 You can see more of KC’s work here.
KC Cali is a representational artist in Orlando. Originally from Vermont, she moved here in 1999. KC earned a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design but turned to a career in graphic design after graduation. She didn’t begin painting until 2010 and now considers painting her second job. She has a day job and she told us that while it does cut in to painting time, it also allows her the freedom to paint what she pleases. Her favorite subject is the figure – the result of years of exclusively drawing from the figure at local life drawing sessions – and she’s currently working on pieces featuring people in the environment as an acknowledgement of the difficulty of presenting art of the nude locally.
Jess is a Senior at Montverde Academy – Class of 2017! We had so much fun with this Senior shoot that also included her sister Ava, both volleyball stars. Jess has just been accepted to the University of North Florida! Here’s to your new adventure Jessica! xo
