Mom & Me: Family Photoshoot at Hammock Beach Resort

There’s nothing more heartwarming than the love of a mother. We got to see it firsthand on a lovely sunny day spent with Ebony and her family at Hammock Resort in Palm Coast. Hammock Beach Resort is known for its stunning facilities and excellent hospitality, but to us, it’s more than that. It’s the perfect backdrop for a joyful family photo session.

Coordinating but not Matching Outfits

We’re often asked how to dress for a family photo session. The clothes worn by Ebony and her family are a perfect example of outfits that coordinate nicely but aren’t too matchy-matchy. The white theme stands out beautifully against the bright blue skies, and each person looks great in an outfit that shows off their sense of style.

A Combination of Candid and Posed Photos

Ebony’s children were a joy to photograph. As you can see from the photos, they have tons of personality, and Ebony is a lovely subject! We love capturing a combination of posed family photos and unposed candid photos. The results are photos that look very natural and give you a peak into the fun life of this young family. The time we spent with Ebony and her kids was so much fun. We love any opportunity to be around a happy family!

Family photo sessions are some of our favorites because the energy is always positive! Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of photographing the same families over and over again. It’s so fun to watch kids grow up! This particular photoshoot took place at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast. But we’ve had the privilege to travel to beaches and other beautiful locations all over Central Florida.

We are so lucky to have amazing clients who turn into friends and call us year after year to photograph their families. It’s so fun to watch these boys grow! Elise and Giovani have hired us for many years, and we have done lots of headshots for their company. I can not believe that their two boys are already pre-teens! You can see their first beautiful family sessions through the years here and here.

We were also happy to take some photos at their new beautiful restaurant Otto’s High Dive in the Milk District of Orlando!

International Family Reunion Photos at Reunion Resort and Golf Club in Kissimmee, Florida

When a family is spread as far apart as Molly’s, it can be difficult to get everyone together at the same time. Molly’s big family is spread from Ukraine to Ohio! How do you organize a family reunion photoshoot when your loved ones live on different sides of the globe? Fortunately, Molly’s parents had the perfect plan! They treated their whole extended family to a Disney-themed spring break trip at a beautiful resort in Kissimmee, Florida. They could finally be all together!

We can’t share this special family reunion portrait session without a rundown of all the beautiful faces in attendance! Molly is the oldest; she and her husband, Jamie, have two kids, ages 10 and 7. Then, her middle brother, Kyle, and his wife have two boys, ages 13 and 11. Her youngest brother’s family is huge! He has 7 children, including a set of twin boys, ages 10, a 9-year-old, an 8-year-old, and two more twin girls, ages 5. He also has a new baby on the way! As you can see from these photos, there are a lot of adorable children in this family!

We met at the stunningReunion Resort and Golf Club in Kissimmee and took photos all over their grounds. They had so much fun, and so did we 🙂 We took photos of each family, the siblings, the kids, and the parents. We always enjoy family portrait sessions because they’re filled with love and laughter and the experience is as fun for us as it is for the family! We have had the pleasure of photographing several families at Reunion Resort and Golf Club, and it never disappoints.

Our family photo sessions are quick and easy! Our approach to photographing families is to have fun. We like candids as well as traditional photos.

Christy wanted to document her family at this time in their lives as they build a house in DeLand and when the children are at this young age. Their property is beautiful and vast – lots of room for this family to grow and run!

In the portraits of the entire family together, it was easy to see that this family’s home is filled with love. The relationship between these parents and their children is such a sweet one, and the siblings are also good friends with each other.

We created some shots with every combo – Mom and Dad on their own, each parent with their children, each parent with each child, and, of course, the two siblings together. And of course, their beloved dog had to be included! It was such a joy to watch how they each relate to each other in their own way.

Many of the families we photograph in the Orlando area are early in their journeys together – couples who are newly engaged, newlyweds, and new parents with young children. As much as these couples and families cherish their time together, they may not realize how much more difficult it gets to spend time together as their families and children get older. That’s why it was such a joy for us to photograph a genuine family reunion for a beautiful extended family who all took time out of their busy lives to reconnect.

This amazing family of over 50 (!) people came together at Orlando’s Reunion Resort for a family vacation, and we were honored to help them take advantage of their together time with a family portrait. Six siblings came together, with their children and grandchildren, and let us tell you, the love and laughter flowed.

With this large of a group, we wanted to be sure to get some portraits of everyone together, but we wanted to give individual families, couples, and family members some shots of their own too. After all, especially with all these little kiddos, how often do you get everyone in one place and looking their best?

We took the portraits in front of the resort’s beautiful veranda. The water feature and flowers along the wall made for a lovely backdrop, but of course, the spotlight was all on these gorgeous faces. With a family this large, each person is living their own life with their own passions and adventures, but you’ll notice that there’s one thing everyone has in common: smiles. It’s clear that they all love each other and connect with each other deeply, and it was such a treat to be able to be part of their togetherness and share in their joy.

If you’ve been putting off a family photo shoot because it just sounds like torture to haul everyone into a studio to stand stiffly side by side, here’s some good news: it doesn’t have to be that way! At our Orlando portrait studio, we believe your portraits shouldn’t just capture how you look but who you are, so our photos are all about authenticity. That’s exactly what we were going for in this family portrait session in historic downtown DeLand.

Kristen and West (or Mom and Dad, as they’re known around the house) are a delightful couple to be around. They both have effortless smiles and sweet and fun-loving energy about them. We had a fantastic time creating special memories of these two, two beautiful daughters, and their baby boy who will be arriving in no time.

The downtown area created a stunning aesthetic, and we loved how the tree lights in the background came through. It was the perfect spot for urban family portraits, and this lovely family made it look even better.

In the portraits of the entire family together, it was easy to see that this family’s home is filled with love. The relationship between these parents and their girls is such a sweet one, and their baby boy is one lucky little guy already.

Building a Dream: Homestead Family Portraits

As Orlando photographers, we’re in a field that gives us the unique ability to get to know our clients on a personal level and watch their families grow and change through the years. That’s absolutely the case for this amazing farming family.

We have been taking portraits of Erin, Jacob, and their kids for years. They’ve been on a lifelong journey to build up their farm and their home into the homestead of their dreams, so we love being able to take their family portraits at the home to get all their exciting progress on film.

Home-based photo sessions like this allow us to capture memories of families simply being themselves. These kiddos love taking care of the horses, playing together outside, and being their goofy and fun-loving selves, so we were thrilled to capture those energetic little spirits of theirs on camera.

It’s easy to see that this zest for life comes straight from Erin and Jacob. They laugh easily and embrace all the best in life, and it’s a joy to see them on this amazing farm that they are building one step at a time.

Of course, we had to make sure that we included the entire family in these family portraits. The two horses and the dog are beloved members of the crew, and we have to say, they’re not bad at striking a pose, either! We also took time to get solo portraits of each family member too, so they each had their moment in the spotlight and had a special headshot from this time in their lives.

This family photo session was one more chapter in Erin and Jacob’s family’s story, and we loved helping them commit the memories to photographs. As busy as life gets while you’re raising your family, remember that someday, this time will only be a memory, and portraits help you remain forever tied to the best that this stage of your life has to offer. Christmas Magic from Dr. Seuss: A Universal Studios Holiday Photo Session

The holidays are always a magical time, so why not add a touch more magic and fantasy into the mix? That’s exactly why Hillary and her beautiful family decided on a Christmas photo shoot at Universal Studios in Dr. Seuss Land.

If you’ve never been, Dr. Seuss Land is in the Islands of Adventure and it’s an area of Universal Studios dedicated to the wonderful works of Dr. Seuss. For the kids (and kids at heart) who love his books, it’s the perfect place for Christmas portraits.

Hillary has long been a fan of Dr. Seuss, so naturally, she’s sharing the magic with her little Evie. This sweet family is from Massachusetts and was gladly enjoying the warm weather of central Florida, and I think you can see that joy on their faces in every shot.

The “Green Eggs and Ham” area was our go-to, but the Universal Studios landscape lent itself to plenty of beautiful photo opportunities. Dr. Seuss Land was perfect for a family session with a toddler in tow because little Evie could just play and have a great time while we got those precious smiles on camera.

It was so much fun to watch this close family let loose and have a great time together. Their personalized Grinch shirts were the icing on the cake and certainly captured the Christmas spirit, even though we were surrounded by palm trees instead of sleighs and reindeer. Baby Evie experienced an exciting new adventure, and these family portraits will serve as a reminder of the family’s trip for decades.

A Family Adventure Photo Shoot at Magic Kingdom

Most of my photo sessions at Magic Kingdom are engagement photography sessions because what better place to have a magical moment than at the Magic Kingdom? But at its core, the Magic Kingdom is designed around families, and that’s why I have so much fun with family photography at Magic Kingdom too. It’s an absolute joy to watch kids explore such an exciting place and truly embrace the magic of it.

That’s the experience I was pleased to have with this beautiful family. Christian, Joy, and their two fantastic kids were in town from Pittsburgh to enjoy the Disney parks and enjoy some quality time as a family. Mom and Dad wanted a photoshoot for the family for Christmas, and what better place to do it than at Magic Kingdom?

These two sweet kids were so much fun to watch and photograph! They were full of joy and were a delight throughout the entire session. My favorite photos of them are the candid shots of them simply being kids in such an exciting place and having a purely wonderful time. The action photos on the carousel are ones that I know this family will always treasure!

Mom and Dad are both doctors, so the ability to take this time away from their busy schedules and have a new adventure with their kids was incredibly special for them. Their genuine smiles in their family photos say it all, and that’s exactly why family photography at Disney is so unique. Instead of families taking one rushed and stressful morning out of their schedules to get family portraits, they’re in the midst of a vacation where they can truly relax and have a great time.

Beach Family Photos and Maternity Photos in New Smyrna Beach

Every photo shoot we do holds a special place in our hearts because every family is truly unique and lovely in their own way. But when we get the opportunity to photograph family friends we have known for many years, it makes the experience that much more meaningful.

Jordyn and Gabe are long-time family friends of ours, and we’ve had the pleasure of photographing their special moments before. We were honored to capture their engagement photos at New Smyrna Beach and to photograph their wedding as well. Now, with one beautiful daughter and another one on the way, we were excited to return to New Smyrna Beach with them to take photos of this amazing time of growth and change in their sweet family.

The entire family was a delight to work with, as usual! They had a fun time just strolling and exploring the beach together while we were there to snap photos of their loving smiles. It was clear to see that they’re all excited to meet the new member of the family!

Along with plenty of family photos, we made sure to capture special maternity portraits for Jordyn as she prepares to welcome her second baby girl. The pregnancy glow is clearly working in full force, but as excited as she is, she has a calming sense of peace around her. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her beach maternity photos, and the angelic look of her white cover-up flowing in the wind is a true snapshot of her nature and her character.
