Alexis’s father had a whole big plan for helping Greg’s surprise Disney World proposal to his daughter. They came all the way from New Jersey, for one day – so it had to be perfect. Alexis was visiting the Magic Kingdom with her sister. She never expected to see Greg, especially down on one knee, roses and in hand in front of Cinderella Castle! Her face was priceless! She was also very surprised to see her parents there too. We had a great time walking through the park while they laughed and danced. So happy for you Alexis and Greg!

The phone call came first from Naim’s sister, asking for proposal information for her brother. They had an elaborate plan to take the New Jersey family to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for Naim to propose to his beautiful lady, Elina. The women in the family planned an all-girls trip to Walt Disney World for a few days. Elina had no idea that the rest of the family, including Naim, would be there too.
Courtney and I waited in front of Cinderella Castle for Naim’s sister to take photos. I asked them if they would like some pro photos, I could email them to her. “Sure!” Elina said. After a few shots, I asked Elina if she would also like photos of the whole family? She said, “No, it’s just us.” I said, “Well, what about all the people behind you?!”
At that point, the whole family walked up behind them, including Naim. Elina could not believe her eyes when she saw him there! Then a double surprise as she watched him get down on one knee and ask her to marry him! With lots of tears, Elina said YES! Such a fun couple and photoshoot! Congratulations Elina and Naim!
Kaylee has to be one of our sweetest and cutest brides-to-be! When Sean proposed to her at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Kaylee’s expressions were priceless. She was so happy! Sean brought her and lots of friends and family, all the way from Texas to help make this day very special for her. Congratulations Sean and Kaylee!
From Kaylee:
We met on the second day of high school my sophomore year during lunch when I offered him a go-go squeeze because the line was so long I didn’t want him to be hungry. He played baseball, was in the grade above me, and still had his post-summer tan from lifeguarding so he was basically it for me right then. Sean was so shy about liking me that I had to ask him for his number to get the ball rolling. Within those first two years, I had three surgeries, my house flooded twice, we both graduated high school, he started the process of becoming a firefighter, and I moved away for school. Through all of that we stayed together he was my foundation through all the hard stuff, laughed with me through the silly stuff, and we continued to grow with one another.
When I was 11 I was bit by a snake on my left ring finger and was really self-conscious about the scar that was left behind for a while. My surgeon was amazing though so I told myself it would really matter because the ring and the person would make up for it and they wouldn’t care about any scar it would be about us. Sean knows me so well and he planned everything so perfectly the ring, the people that were present, the place, and even having you guys there I couldn’t ask for a better proposal or a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I had a teacher in high school who told all his students not to be so involved in high school relationships because in the long run, it doesn’t work out. The day after Sean proposed I emailed him telling him we beat the odds, we are getting married. A few days later I heard back from him telling me he’s never been happier to be proven wrong.
I cannot be more excited to marry Sean, he is the person I look forward to telling everything to, he’s my best friend without him I have no idea where I would be but I know he helps me be the best version of myself always.
The pandemic has been hard on everyone. But today we finally got to get back to our Disney engagement and proposal sessions! Well masked up and 6 feet apart of course. We love the Magic Kingdom and so do our wonderful clients! Some people may not want to get their photos taken with masks, but we can still deliver a great portrait experience. Take a look at Ian and Kaylie from Ohio – a beautiful proposal and engagement shoot where masks did not hide their love and happiness xo
We have SO much fun photographing proposals at Disney! So much love and happiness! Will had it all planned out to propose to lovely (and Ariel Princess-like) Brooke, and we were there to document the surprise. They are so sweet and Brooke was so surprised! Of course, she said yes 🙂
It all started when Will’s father called me to check on availability. Then a few phone calls back and forth with Will – “how does this all work?” We can always help you with the planning of your proposal! We know it can be confusing and overwhelming, especially coming in from out of state.
We decided to meet at the Cinderella Wishing Well, a perfect spot in the shadow of the castle. We knew what they were wearing and Will and I texted our whereabouts to each other. Finally, they came around the corner and Will got down on one knee. Brooke was so happy and stunned!
We made our way through Mainstreet, The Purple Wall, Cinderella Castle and Mickey’s Toontown. Will and Brooke were easy going and easy to photograph. We all had a great day!
Congratulations Brooke and Will! May all your wishes come true.
Brian really surprised Maddie for her Disney proposal – she was celebrating her birthday with friends and Brian showed up from Ohio to propose to her ❤️💕 Right after she said YES they went on a sunset pontoon boat ride from the Polynesian Resort to watch the fireworks 💥 Congratulations you two!
Victoria and Alberts Restaurant is a very beautiful and popular proposal spot (see another one here) at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. They came all the way from Quebec. MyLinh was very surprised when Will popped the question! She said yes <3
Aaron called me from New York to help him plan his proposal to his girl Samantha at Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We had fun going back and forth, making plans. Their beautiful story is best told by them so here it is xo:
Aaron: We met at a party my sister forced me to go to shortly after returning home from the army. I was being reasonably belligerent and I saw her and she shot daggers at me with her eyes and I said, “boy I’m glad I didn’t marry you!” Haha. She’s been with me on what’s been a 5-year recovery.
When we met I had no car, no job, no money, and a drug problem. One night I was at a get together at her mom’s and she came home from being out with friends and she sat down and I talked to her for 6 hours that night. Told her everything about who I was in honest truth and that was the beginning of the emotional connection.
She’s a caretaker; compassionate, kind, loves kids, a social worker. She’s a wonderful partner and exactly what I want in a mother for my children. Disney is her favorite place, and after all the hassle of trying to plan a local proposal and follow on dinner our families wanted, Disney world was a no-brainer. She took me for my first time new year 2015 but I think I took her for her most memorable trip 😉
Samantha: growing up, I always knew I wanted to be married. I am a very committed person when it comes to my relationships. I’m a giver. I am also very selective with who I show this side to.
When I got to know Aaron I immediately wanted to give him everything. no holding back, no restrictions. My love for him was immediately unconditional. I have always been content with the idea of spending every ounce of time I have with him.
At some points of our relationship, we questioned whether marriage was going to happen for us.
Never once doubting our love for each other.
That’s why I cried so hard when he proposed. This was a day that almost didn’t happen for us and it made me appreciate it a million times more.
Disney world is my favorite place. My family took vacations there every year when I was a kid. I continued to go there as an adult. Everyone that knows me, knows that I love it there.
I never imagined getting that kind of proposal. I am so blessed to be with someone as thoughtful as he is.
Aaron is also very compassionate and resilient. He makes me stop and appreciate the little details of life. He makes me laugh harder than anyone else can.
He makes me want to be the best version of myself, every day. He is my hero. Just when I think I couldn’t love this guy more…I do!
Monttez called me saying he wanted to propose to his girl Caitline at Disney’s Boardwalk, but had never been there, so it was hard for him to plan! I was able to help him make it all work for the surprise proposal – Caitline was so surprised and we had a lot of fun walking through the Boardwalk. Congratulations Monttez and Caitline!
From Caitline: Monttez and I met in high school on Facebook. Meeting people on Facebook back then was what our generation did. We started dating our junior year of college. Monttez has been and always will be the biggest blessing from God. As a young girl, I always prayed for a man to come sweep me up off my feet. He did just that, but all in God’s timing. I am honored that such a sweet, caring, and loving man chose me to be his wife. I cannot wait to see what life has in store for us, the soon to be Shackelford’s.
From Monttez: Caitline is amazing and truly a gift from God that I can’t thank him enough for. She is a blessing to me day in and day out. I love her patience, supportiveness, loyalty, and empathy. She is very inspirational and a delight to be around. I‘m thrilled to soon be able to call her my wife and go through life with her. I love her.
Nick was very slick pretending to tie his shoe, but was really getting Jordan’s ring so that he could propose to her! We had such a fun day with them – we even got to meet their wonderful families afterwards for a champagne toast.
From Nick:Jordan and I met 2012 in Choir at High Point University. We quickly became friends and started dating at the end of my senior year of college. Jordan was still in college at that time. We knew long distance would be a challenge but when you love someone enough anything is possible. We spent every minute we had free to travel to each other together. I am a police officer in Ohio and Jordan is a 2nd semester medical school student. I love Jordan because she makes me such a better person. I proposed to Jordan at Disney because we have been there many times together over our 4.5 years of dating and it’s a special place full of amazing memories for us! I told Jordan I wanted to walk around the Boardwalk at Disney before we had dinner at Il Mulino. After walking around for a while, I told her I had to tie my shoe. When she turned around I was down on one knee asking her to marry me. She said YES and we can’t wait to start our life together!
And a surprise message for Nick from Jordan, she wanted him to read it here:Nick is the man that every girl dreams of marrying. From day one he has treated me like a princess so proposing to me at Disney could not have been a more perfect place. He makes me laugh and he is always there for me. He has the kindest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. We are so blessed to have found each other and that God placed us in each other’s lives. We can’t wait for our future together! I’m so thankful that Nick hired The Canovas Photography to capture our special moment. He couldn’t have picked a better team! (Thank you! That means a lot. xo – Kelly)
