If you’re ever having a bad day or need a little pick-me-up, spend a day with an engagement photographer. You’ll be filled with hope once again! There’s something about being upfront and center for a huge act of love that makes you see the world in a more hopeful light. The day we photographed DJ and Amanda’s engagement was super special.

The Proposal

When DJ contacted us to photograph his proposal to his beautiful then-girlfriend Amanda, we could tell they were going to be a fun couple to work with. We met up with the pair at The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The resort’s stunning interior and beautiful architecture are perfect backdrops for a surprise proposal. We spent the first moments of their engagement with them, and we think the pictures speak for themselves. These two are crazy about each other.

We left them that night in a cloud of bliss and met up with them again the next day for an engagement shoot at the Magic Kingdom!

The Engagement Shoot

The awesome thing about Disney engagement photoshoots is that they truly have something for everyone! If you want classy engagement photos in front of an adorable storefront, you’ve got it. We’re grown adults with grandchildren and still get excited every time we walk into the park.

We do a lot of photoshoots at Disney parks, and one of the top questions we get from our clients is, “What should I wear for my Disney engagement photos?” Below, we’ve curated a list with six of our favorite styles that look great in Disney engagement photos.

Unfortunately, Disney does not allow visitors to dress in full costume at the parks. But you don’t need a full costume to get into the Disney spirit! A Proposal for Michelangelo and Anne at Epcot – Walt Disney World

Michelangelo was nervous when he called me to help plan his Disney proposal to his love, Anne. Walt Disney World is their favorite place and he wanted it to be perfect for her! Both teachers from New Jersey, our day started with a trip to EPCOT to capture the proposal she has always wanted. I love that they said, “Disney feels like home to us.”

Story of Anne and Michelangelo: We met back in 2020 right before the pandemic. It felt like we’d known each other for ten years. As months passed getting to know each other and how much we have in common, we started to plan our first Disney trip together, and didn’t work out as planned. Anne broke her leg and we were not able to go. They told her it would take 6 months to walk again but she did it in three because we planned another Disney trip for December. Disney motivated her. A year later we planned another Disney trip. Because Disney feels like home to us. We both love each other as much as we love Disney. Three years later another Disney trip and Michelangelo popped the question right in front of our favorite place in the world Epcot. 06-30-23 💍❤️

Love Is Love: Two Beauties’ Proposal Photos at Magic Kingdom

What a lovely proposal to photograph. Pride Month is all about celebrating people’s authentic selves and celebrating the beauty of love in all its forms. This Pride Month, we’re honored to be able to highlight a wonderful couple with love in their hearts and a bright future ahead: Mallory and Lawson.

These two soulmates were excited to enjoy a fun day at Magic Kingdom, but Mallory had something especially magical in store. While overlooking the iconic Cinderella’s Castle, Mallory got down on one knee and “popped the question.” Lawson was grinning ear to ear and couldn’t wait to say “yes”!

As we made our way to a few locations in the park for proposal photos, Mallory and Lawson were such a joy to be with. They know exactly how to make each other laugh, and we loved getting some of those genuine laughs on camera.

We focused mostly on Cinderella’s Castle as the backdrop for Mallory and Lawson’s portraits. After all, it’s the perfect place for romance. Along with plenty of classic close-up shots and traditional photos to highlight that gorgeous ring, we had fun snapping pictures of these two dancing together in front of the castle. If their loved ones can dance as well as Mallory and Lawson, this wedding will be a fabulous one!

This couple shined so brightly in their portraits alongside Cinderella’s wishing well, the Dumbo ride, and the beautifully rustic castle doors, but some of my favorites might be their portraits with the simplest backgrounds. Mallory and Lawson are so natural together and look at each other with such a warm, authentic love in their eyes, and those portraits truly shine the light on this bond.

Surprise Proposal Photos at the Magic Kingdom

You never forget the moment you get engaged. Whether you’re the one proposing or the one saying “yes,” there’s nothing like that burst of joy you get when you realize you’re about to embark on the epic journey of life with the person you love unlike anyone else. When that moment happens in a place that already has its own magic, though, it’s even better. It’s no wonder why so many couples get engaged at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, and it’s always a thrill when we’re there to capture the magic.

We were so excited to be waiting with our cameras when Krunal proposed to his beautiful bride Janke. What Janke thought would just be a fun day at the park turned into a life-changing one when Krunal stopped in front of the iconic Cinderella’s Castle, got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. She couldn’t contain her excitement as she said “yes!”

It was such a joy to stroll through the park with these two to capture their Disney proposal portraits. Disney’s 50^th-anniversary celebration was underway at the time, so we made sure to take portraits in front of the unique signage to highlight what a unique and fun time this was.

To kick off their future together, Janke and Krunal spent some time at the wishing well too. The arch framed them perfectly, and they made their own special wishes for their life ahead.

Some of our favorite portraits of these two are from the archway in front of Cinderella’s Castle. The lighting was fabulous and unique, and the magical background was perfect to complement this beautiful and bright couple.

In all our portraits of Janke and Krunal together, it’s clear to see what a sweet love they have for each other. They truly adore one another, and we expect to see many more smiles and gentle smooches in their future.

Now Playing Fiancés: Cast Members’ Disney Proposal Portraits

Disney holds a special place in so many people’s hearts, usually, because it brings back some of their favorite childhood memories. But for a lovely young couple, JR and Kaitlyn, Disney means even more because it’s the backdrop to their love story. It’s only fitting that it was also the perfect place for their proposal portraits.

We take Disney proposal photos at the Disney parks often, but Kaitlyn and JR are both cast members, so this one was even more special. JR proposed to Kaitlyn at the Be Our Guest restaurant inside Belle’s castle, in the sweetest way, of course – with dessert. Kaitlyn was stunned and couldn’t wait to say “yes!”

For Kaitlyn and JR’s engagement portraits, we started with some shots in front of the big top with Dumbo, everyone’s favorite little elephant. We loved the pictures of these two sneakings a kiss behind the banners, and Kaitlyn already looks like a bride with her mouse-ear veil.

We made our way over to the carousel and its classic, retro aesthetic fits these two perfectly. They re-created the proposal on the carousel and of course, they did a fantastic job – they are actors, after all. They both look stunningly illuminated by the carousel lights.

Keep in mind that we photograph a lot of proposals, and we have to say that JR did a phenomenal job with the planning! He added so many special touches, like having the ring box engraved with the date and having custom shirts made, and we made sure to get photos of all these unique details.

Grand Romance at the Grand Floridian: Michael and Brittany’s Proposal Photos

Florida can be a beautiful place for a romantic getaway – the sun, the ocean air, the stunning landscape, and even more stunning sunsets. It’s no surprise that Florida is also a popular place to take romance to the next level and pop the question.

That’s exactly what Michael had in mind for the love of his life, Brittany. This adorable couple from Massachusetts has a joy that is truly infectious, so it was an honor to be able to photograph these two making it official. Brittany was shocked in the best possible way when she saw Michael get down on one knee in the shade of a palm tree, and she simply couldn’t wait to say “yes!”

Michael proposed to Brittany at the lovely Grand Floridian Resort, which is one of our favorite places in the area for photo shoots. The grounds of the Grand Floridian and gorgeous, and we took full advantage of this couple’s engagement photo shoot.

We chose a relaxed feel for the engagement portraits, and they fit this couple’s style perfectly. Many of our shots feature a quaint gazebo that has a wonderful Florida look. The Grand Floridian’s idyllic courtyard is a beautiful backdrop as well, with a charm that only comes second to the charm of this cute couple.

Throughout the session, it was a joy to see how much Michael and Brittany enjoyed each other’s company, making each other laugh and having a fantastic time together. We’re certain that these two will have a marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

A Bright Spot in the Rain: A Magic Kingdom Proposal Photo Shoot

As the saying goes, “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go astray.” Rain has become a symbol of this: it’s a curveball that nature throws our way and it can dampen nearly any mood (literally) or break down any plan we might have had. But that makes it all the more special when something incredible is able to break through the rain.

That’s exactly what happened for this adorable couple’s engagement photo shoot. You might know that Florida tends to have truly epic rainstorms, and the rain that poured down on the day of these two’s engagement was no exception. Not only did the rain make the outdoor atmosphere of the Magic Kingdom a bit less welcoming, but it threw a wrench in the schedule for the day too.

And yet, in spite of everything, this groom-to-be stepped out from under the umbrella, got down on one very wet knee, and made this one of the best days his soon-to-be wife will have in her life. Clearly, it was a good call, because do you see her amazing smile? She couldn’t contain her excitement, and the rainstorm seemed to fade away purely from how bright and joyful she was.

This engagement photo session was actually special for a few other reasons too. First of all, it was planned as a gift for the couple by the groom-to-be’s mom. It was a pleasure to plan it with her, and I can already tell how excited she is to welcome her future daughter-in-law to the family! Second, we received a special extra treat: the ability to get this sweet couple’s daughter in their engagement photos. She might not grasp what’s going on, but in the years to come, I know that she’ll treasure this special day and I’m thrilled that she’ll have these engagement portraits to look back on.

Teachers are some of the most impactful people in our world, holding the power to inspire, inform, and motivate the next generation of leaders. We can all feel a little better about the future knowing that Marissa and Jacob will be in that role. These two lovebirds are both studying to be teachers in San Diego, and we were thrilled to be able to capture the life-changing moment they became engaged.

Marissa and Jacob are some of the most joyful, positive people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. It’s safe to say that Marissa was excited to say “yes” to Jacob, and she was clearly enamored with her gorgeous new ring.

Throughout Marissa and Jacob’s engagement photo session, we enjoyed a simulated trip around the world on Epcot’s spectacular grounds. The newly engaged couple twirled in the streets of France, stood in awe of a Chinese temple, and cozied up in an old-school London phone booth. Their smiles never wavered for an instant.

We have to say that these two make an utterly beautiful couple. It’s easy to see the pure joy between the two of them, and their smiles will brighten any room. They even managed to be color-coordinated with each other in their outfits! The beautiful pinks spoke to the lively, graceful spirit these two shares, and they made the couple truly pop inside a bold pink flower arch we found.

We always particularly love photos that show couples simply having fun together, and Marissa and Jacob’s session was full of these candid shots. They were constantly laughing and giggling together, and it was obvious that their wedded home will be full of joy.

Proposal Photography at the Grand Floridian

One of my favorite parts of proposal photography sessions at Disney is the opportunity to meet people from everywhere and anywhere! Disney fans are all over the country and all over the world and many of them flock to Disney World to experience the magic, so I have the unique privilege of photographing people from so many states and countries.

In this case, I was excited to celebrate and capture the beautiful moment that these two Louisianians became engaged. Mallory and Nicholas are a couple of LSU Tigers who had long had a love for Disney and couldn’t wait for their dream vacation. Mallory had no idea, though, that Nicholas had plans to make their trip even more magical by asking her to be his wife.

Mallory and Nicholas were an absolute joy to work with every step of the way. They’re simply a genuinely kind and fun couple, and some of my favorite portraits are those showing Mallory and Nicholas laughing and having fun together – just being their sweet selves.

The Grand Floridian Resort, where the couple was staying, created the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. The resort is absolutely gorgeous, with perfectly green lawns, lovely water features, and stunning interiors. As a fun added bonus, because Mallory and Nicholas were in town during the holiday season, the resort had an amazing Christmas tree! It was a great way to capture this special time of year that has been made even more beautiful by the upcoming start of this couple’s life together.

I can’t blog about this session without also mentioning the pictures of Mallory and Nicholas’s LSU class rings alongside Mallory’s new engagement ring. To me, it was the perfect snapshot to tell their story, and I know that it’s only the beginning.
